La Resistencia – Yaya Por Vida’s 5th Annual Art as Healing Pop-Up Art Auction

On August 30, 2025, Yaya Por Vida proudly hosted La Resistencia—our 5-year anniversary art auction—at Transsocial and McKenzie Project Joy and Liberation Center in Miami, FL.

This unforgettable event, held during Overdose Awareness Week, brought the community together in a profound statement of unity, resilience, and healing. More than just an art show, La Resistencia highlighted the power of art as a tool for collective strength and remembrance.

We were honored to partner with The McKenzie Project, a pioneering Black trans-led organization serving Miami-Dade and Broward Counties, who generously provided the space for this year’s gathering.

Thanks to the incredible support of attendees, artists, and allies, the event directly contributed to Yaya Por Vida’s mission—funding our art-as-healing programs, street outreach, advocacy efforts, and the artist collective healing mutual aid fund.

Together, we celebrated five years of creating impact, fostering community, and carrying forward the spirit of resistance.

La Resistencia – 5to Aniversario de la Subasta de Arte “Arte como Sanación” de Yaya Por Vida

El 30 de agosto de 2025, Yaya Por Vida celebró con orgullo La Resistencia—nuestra subasta de arte por el 5to aniversario—en el Transsocial y McKenzie Project Joy and Liberation Center en Miami, FL.

Este evento inolvidable, realizado durante la Semana de Concientización sobre Sobredosis, unió a la comunidad en una profunda expresión de unidad, resiliencia y sanación. Más que una exposición de arte, La Resistencia destacó el poder del arte como herramienta de fortaleza colectiva y de memoria.

Tuvimos el honor de asociarnos con The McKenzie Project, una organización pionera liderada por personas trans negras que sirve a los condados de Miami-Dade y Broward, quienes generosamente ofrecieron el espacio para este encuentro.

Gracias al increíble apoyo de asistentes, artistas y aliados, el evento contribuyó directamente a la misión de Yaya Por Vida—financiar nuestros programas de arte como sanación, trabajo de alcance comunitario, esfuerzos de defensa y el fondo de ayuda mutua para la sanación del colectivo de artistas.

Juntos, celebramos cinco años de crear impacto, fortalecer la comunidad y mantener vivo el espíritu de resistencia.
